Our Story

The genesis of 7B Superfruit came about when the cycles of farming crossed paths with a good friend. My friend Mike had retired from teaching, as well as from his side hustle of a frozen jam/popsicle business in 2018. My wife’s family’s U-Pick farm had just had a bumper crop of blueberries the season previous, and room was needed in the freezer for the upcoming season. 

My mother-in-law told me, “See if you can do something delicious with these frozen berries and make a million dollars. I need them out of my way.” In the search for ideas, my friend Mike offered some simple plastic popsicle sleeves and some filling equipment that he no longer used. The generosity of these two people birthed a one-man, local food project that later became 7B Superfruit. 

Since 2019, fruit grown in Bonner Co Idaho has combined with one school teacher’s recipes and experimentation, as well as with farm stands, farmer’s markets and “Mom and Pop” stores, to provide wholesome and delicious frozen treats to share with everyone you care about. 

Shingle Mill Blueberry Farm

A family owned and operated U-Pick blueberry farm just outside of Sandpoint, ID which grows the highest quality blueberries (and strawberries) in North Idaho. Also, the Farm is the unofficial, cutting-edge, cultural ambassador of the annual Sandpoint 4th of July Parade, combining the percussive artistry of 5 gallon buckets, intricate choreography and no small amount of blue body paint.

7B Superfruit is committed to buying ingredients, as much as possible, from Bonner County, and the surrounding region.  Not only do we all benefit from building infrastructure that shortens the distance from farm to table, but we build friendship with those who feed us and help create food culture, unique to our corner of the world.
